Post-Fourth of July holiday, Rumson-Sea Bright Bridge replacement work is scheduled to continue during its usual 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. hours from Wednesday through Friday, weather permitting, with specific construction activities listed below the travel advisory information.

On the Shrewsbury River waterway …
- The west span of the new bridge will remain in the closed position from 5 p.m. on Wednesday, today, until 5 a.m. on Thursday, as authorized by the United States Coast Guard (USCG).
The USCG has jurisdiction over the navigational channel. USCG may grant permission for partial closures of the channel and/or for temporary deviation from normal drawbridge operations. Monmouth County must comply with instructions from USCG.
On the roadway and sidewalk on and surrounding the bridge …
- Traffic pattern changes and travel delays are possible on both the Rumson and Sea Bright sides of the bridge.
- All roadway and sidewalk travelers should be aware of construction and delivery vehicles entering and exiting the work areas on both sides of Rumson Road in Rumson and on the southbound side of Ocean Avenue in Sea Bright.
- The south side (eastbound) sidewalk of the bridge is closed.
