RFH’s Tower Players Set Stage for Fall Production of ‘Cinderella, Youth Edition’

The cliche “If the shoe fits …” is, indeed, fitting for the the Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School (RFH) Tower Players’ announcement that its fall musical production of Cinderella, Youth Edition will come to the high school’s stage in late November.

In the past, the RFH productions were standard drama/comedy in the fall open to Tower Players audition only, with the spring musical auditions open to all students and characteristically ending up with large casts. That tradition has changed dramatically over the years, with all auditions open to all and both fall and spring productions usually musicals.

For this RFH Tower Players production of the Rogers and Hammerstein musical, the traditional Cinderella story is to be staged with “adventure, humor, and unforgettable songs,” a release from RFH said.

As the story goes at RFH, Cinderella, played by Sydney Schirripa, a kind young woman whose life is mistreated by her cruel stepmother (Reagan Gaborow) and jealous stepsisters (Elliot Quinn and Amélie Walsh), is forced to spend her days doing chores while her stepsisters enjoy a life of luxury.

Cinderella dreams of escaping her unhappy home. When an invitation to the royal ball arrives, Cinderella is determined to attend, but her stepmother and stepsisters do everything they can to keep her from going. Just when all hope seems lost, Cinderella’s fairy godmother, played by RFH’s Grace Krok, appears and uses her magic to transform Cinderella’s life for one magical night.

At the ball, Cinderella catches the eye of the charming prince, played by Charlie Snider, and the two share a magical evening together. But when the clock strikes midnight, Cinderella must flee, leaving behind only a glass slipper. Determined to find the mysterious girl he fell in love with, the prince searches the kingdom until the slipper leads him back to Cinderella, proving that true love can overcome even the greatest obstacles.

With dazzling performances, stunning costumes, and catchy songs, Cinderella Youth Edition is sure to
