RFH Tower Players Bring ‘Evil Dead’ Musical to Life on Stage

The Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School (RFH) Tower Players are bringing cult classic Evil Dead: The Musical, High School Version to life on stage.

With its book and lyrics by George Reinblatt and music by Frank Cipolla, Christopher Bond, Melissa Morris, and George Reinblatt, the spring musical production set to open on Friday night, March 20, is a stage adaptation of the Evil Dead films.

Packed with comedy, bloody, campy horror and songs, the story follows five college students who travel to a remote cabin in the woods for a relaxing getaway, only to accidentally unleash an ancient evil lurking in the woods.

The dysfunctional group is led by Ash (Wyatt Zaleski), his perfect girlfriend, Linda (Sydney Schrippa), his nerdy sister, Cheryl (Dakota Diehl), his best friend, Scott (Elliot Quinn), and the brainless, yet lovable, Shelly (Mary Grace Cosgrove), who Scott picked up at a bus stop three days prior.

As the demonic forces take over one-by-one, the group must fight for survival while facing possessed friends, supernatural chaos, and plenty of laughs. The crew is soon joined by cabin owner Annie (Ava Fiore), her fiancee, Ed (Charlie Snider), and a man named Jake they found in the woods (William Kuskin), who realize they might be the group’s only hope of stopping the evil once and for all.

The Tower Players are, again, working with an award-winning creative team this season: KasiAnn Sweeney (director), Anthony Preuster (assistant director), Amanda Gorfain (musical director), Donna Battaglia (choreographer), Kevin Gunther (technical director), Catherine Cleary (costume and props designer), and Sue Wankel (play production coordinator).

Performance dates are: March 20, 21, 22, 28, and 29. Tickets can be purchased at: towerplayers.booktix.com.
