Retro 70s Fair Haven Fire Department Officers’ Line-Up

They were officers and gentlemen serving their small town as volunteer emergency responders. Yes, it’s that time. Reorganization time.

Oh, there are classic New Year’s Day celebrations to usher in the new line officers in the fire departments — fire company, fire police and first aid. There are new chiefs and officers. We’ll get to who they all are for 2023 in Fair Haven.

But, for now, we take you back to a casual line-up of 1972 Fair Haven Fire Department chiefs and officers. Who’s who and what? Well, the names are there, but it’s your guess as to who was what.

Most of these guys are now gone. There are a couple, though, who you’ll still see answering emergency calls and, of course, manning a booth or some function at the Fair Haven Firemen’s Fair.

In 2022, two in this shot answered their final call in the fire company — Jim Butler and John Felsmann. Rest In Peace, guys.

The year before, it was Bill Lang who answered his last call.

The rest? Well, see who you recognize. There’s one for sure who you see at the fair’s 50/50 booth every year. Another, not pictured, is still a fire company character of the most classic kind. Who are they?
