In Memoriam: Longtime What’s Your Beef Server, Nancy Kochanski, of Middletown, 85

Longtime What’s Your Beef server, Nancy Ruth Kochanski, of Middletown, died peacefully at home on Friday, July 11. She was 85.

Nancy grew up in Middletown where she lived her whole life and raised her family.  

“Nancy worked as a server at What’s Your Beef Restaurant in Rumson for many decades.  Since retiring 10 years ago, she loved most of all spending time with her family and friends.”

She was predeceased by: her parents, James and Margaret (Ayers) Weeks; her husband, Greg Kochanski; two sons, James and Thomas Zilly; her sister, Emily Worden and husband Edward (Jenkins); and two brothers, Fredrick and Robert Weeks.  

She is survived by: her children, Michael and Patricia Zilly, of Tinton Falls, Darlene and Brian Lang, of Middletown, Sharon Acciavatti and Jeremy Rau, of Union Beach, and daughter-in-law Diane Grillon and her husband, Barry, of Toms River; her grandchildren, Thomas and Kristin Gorski, of Middletown, Melissa and Harry Murtha, of Atlantic Highlands, Michael and Hilary Zilly, of Tinton Falls, Nicholas and Emily Gorski, of Matawan, Megan and Zack Ross, of Sewell, David and Karl, of Eatontown, Hayley Acciavatti and James Courtney, of Highlands, and Joseph Acciavatti, of Highlands; 17 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 16, from 4 to 7 p.m., with a eulogy and short prayer at 6, at Thompson Memorial Home, 310 Broad St., Red Bank, NJ 07701. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Jason’s Dreams For Kids, 20 Monmouth St., Red Bank, NJ 07701.
