In Memoriam: Longtime Rumsonite, RFHer, Rumson First Aid & Oceanic Hook & Ladder Co. Member, Jay Harvey, 78

Longtime Rumsonite Jayson “Jay” Harvey passed away on Saturday, Oct. 1, in Neptune. He was 78.

Born in NYC in 1944, Jay’s “life led him to Rumson, where he attended Rumson Fair Haven Regional High School (RFH). He excelled in varsity basketball and won the dubious honors of best personality and class flirt which led him to win the heart of Lynn who would later become his wife in 1967 … Jay served on the Rumson First Aid Squad, and Oceanic Hook & Ladder Fire company.  He spent many years playing on the Oceanic softball team, and even
coached them to victory …

Jay had many passions, he loved spending time with friends and family, loved boating/fishing and being on the water, as well as fixing up his antique cars.
He loved making people laugh and could make a jumping frog on command with a business card.”
