Longtime Red Bank resident, Thomas Edward “Tom/Poppy” Stamm, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Feb. 5.
Born in Hoboken to Joseph and Barbara Stamm, Tom graduated from Hoboken High School before proudly enlisting in the U.S. Navy, serving honorably during the Vietnam War aboard the USS Pickaway.
“Following his discharge, Tom wasted no time getting to work — beginning his career with Redstar Trucking the very next Monday. He remained there for decades until his well-earned retirement.

“Tom enjoyed the simple pleasures of life: watching classic television shows, keeping up with sports, and especially cheering on the New York Yankees. He loved watching his sons play baseball and took great pride in spending time with his grandsons. He was the biggest fan of watching Aiden play ice hockey and he treasured playing video games with Mason.
“Tom also enjoyed fishing, had a deep interest in computers and technology, and was fascinated by history. Above all, Tom was devoted to his family. He cherished family gatherings, holidays spent together, and memorable vacations.
“One of his greatest joys was dancing with his beloved wife of 40 years, Eileen, with whom he will forever dance in heaven.”
Tom is predeceased by his parents and his precious wife Eileen.
He is survived by: his loving sons, Timothy Stamm, and his wife, Kerri, and Steven Stamm; his beloved grandsons, Aiden and Mason Stamm; his cherished sisters, Lorraine Zupicich and Julie DiBlasi; and his loving sister-in-law, Janis A. Tripodi, and her grandson, Dominic.
Tom also leaves behind his precious dog, Dumpling, as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews whom he loved dearly.
Tom is predeceased by his brother, Joseph Stamm, Jr.
