He is now in “that house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.” Gone but not forgotten, a special man who touched the lives of many and left his mark upon us all.
Little Silver resident, Thomas Allmond Kennedy, formerly of Wilmington, DE, Brooklyn, NY, and Rhosllanerchrugog, Wales, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 23, at home.
Thomas was born in Brooklyn, NY, where he was raised by his parents, Samuel and Sarah Kennedy.
“A few years after Thomas’ father passed away in 1945, Thomas and his mother moved to Wales where he spent several years enveloped in a warm and loving extended family. He held Wales close to his heart for his entire life.

“Thomas, also known to his grandchildren as Taid, lived in Little Silver for the past 22 years after moving there from Wilmington, DE, in order to be closer to his family.
“He was a kind, fun-loving man who liked nothing better than sharing his stories and occasional song with all. Thomas was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, and friend. He was fortunate to have many caring doctors and nurses who helped him over the years. His helper, Z, was a constant and compassionate caregiver over the last few years.”
Thomas was predeceased by his wife, Irene Mary, of 48 years.
He is survived by: his daughter, Megan, and her husband, Brian Fitzgerald; grandchildren, Grace and her husband, Michael Krupnik, Clare Fitzgerald, Emma and husband, Reid Rosello; great-grandson, Liam Krupnik; his sister-in-law, Eleanor; and many nieces and nephews.
There will be a funeral service on Aug. 29 at 10:30 a.m. at Embury United Methodist Church, 49 Church St., Little Silver, NJ 07739.
