Former longtime Little Silver resident, police officer, Fire Department and First Aid Squad member, Kevin Francis Tuohy, more recently of Middletown, passed away, “bade farewell to this mortal world and (has) embarked on hi next grand adventure” on Sept. 20. He was 69.
Born on in Jersey City, Kevin and his family moved to Little Silver when he was 12. It became his home for many years thereafter.
Kevin served his Little Silver community as a police officer for 30 years. He was a volunteer in the Little Silver Fire Department and on the First Aid Squad, both prior to and during his time in the Little Silver Police Department.
Kevin also taught courses at the Monmouth County Police Academy and served on the Little Silver Emergency Management Team.
Even after his official retirement, he continued working for several years at both Fort Monmouth and Tobyhanna Army Depot, PA.
Kevin was an avid golfer and, prior to taking the position in the Little Silver Police Department, considered going pro. For decades he was a well-known player at Fort Monmouth; and, he played on golf courses around the country when time allowed.
Kevin was predeceased by his father, Frank, and his mother, Veronica Tuohy.
He is survived by: his son, Timothy Francis; his daughter, Alice Veronica; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends, “who all experienced so many wonderful adventures with Kevin over the years.”
