Hot diggity! The Fair Haven Firemen’s Fair time is drawing near!
The fair may be known far and wide for its simple, no frills fried seafood feast, but those dogs are pretty well sought after as well.
They’re good. Real good. Nothing quite like a grilled foot-longer from Wenning to quench that fair food thirst. The booth where the dogs are grilled and served is called the Out Back. It used to have no name and just be referred to as the Hot Dog Booth. And, as with all other fair treats, there are plenty of fair folks in that booth prepping, cooking and serving all day and night.
So, the Retro Pic of the Day pays homage to a fair mainstay with a look back to most likely the early 1970s and some fair folks prepping in the Out Back.
There are many goodies to be consumed from the Out Back — cotton candy, zeppoles, burgers, fries, ice cream. Your favorite? Which fair treat no longer served do you wish would make a comeback? Know these fine fair Out Back folks of the past?
