The cause of a motor-vehicle crash that resulted in the driver being hospitalized and in critical condition is under investigation, Prosecutor Raymond S. Santiago announced on Tuesday.
On Sunday, Aug. 10, at 9:52 a.m., Howell police responded to the area of County Road 547 near the intersection of Oak Glen Road for a report of a motor vehicle that crashed into a building.
A preliminary investigation revealed that a female driver was travelling southbound on County Road 547 when she ran off the road to the right-hand side, over a concrete median island, into a parking lot and into the side of a business.
As a result, the driver was taken to a local hospital, where she is in critical condition, suffering from numerous injuries.
No charges or summonses have been issued with regard to the incident at this time.
An investigation involving members of the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office, Monmouth County Serious Collision Analysis Response Team (SCART), and the Howell Township Police Department remains active.
