Prosecutor: Pedestrian Dies in Motor Vehicle Accident

A female pedestrian has died as the result of a collision with a motor vehicle Thursday evening, Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher J. Gramiccioni announced on Friday.

Daniel Harning, 84, of Parlin, was driving a 2016 Kia Cadenza southbound on Route 35, approaching Cliffwood Avenue in Aberdeen, when his vehicle hit pedestrian Christine Bowles, 35, of Keansburg, at 6:33 p.m.

Bowles was taken to Bayshore Hospital where she was pronounced dead at 7:02 p.m.

Harning and a passenger did not sustain any injuries during the collision.

No motor vehicle summonses were issued pending investigation.

The crash remains under investigation by the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office, and Aberdeen Police Department and the Monmouth County Serious Collision Analysis Response Team (SCART).
