Authorities are seeking witnesses or anyone with further information regarding an unsolved fatal Asbury Park shooting, Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond S. Santiago announced on Monday.
The victim has been identified as Derek L. Bussey, 27, of Asbury Park.
The case background …
Shortly after 11:45 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 9, Asbury Park police responded to the area of Atkins Avenue between Adams Street and Boston Way on a report of a shooting. There they found Bussey, who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds.
Bussey was transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead shortly after midnight on Thursday, Aug. 10.
A joint investigation by members of the Prosecutor’s Office’s Major Crimes Bureau and the Asbury Park Police Department is continuing.
