Prosecutor: 20-Year-Old Area Man Facing Attempted Murder, Weapons Charges in Shooting

A 20-year-old area man is facing attempted murder and weapons possession charges stemming from a Tuesday shooting incident, Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond S. Santiago announced on Friday.

Jordan Woolfolk, of Freehold Borough, has been charged with two counts of first-degree attempted murder, along with single counts of second-degree unlawful possession of a weapon (handgun), second-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and third-degree hindering in connection with the incident.

The case background …

On Tuesday, Dec. 16, at 1:26 a.m., Freehold Borough police responded to Jackson Street on a report of shots fired. Upon arrival, officers discovered one victim suffering from a gunshot wound.

The female victim was transported to a local hospital where she received medical treatment for her injury. A second victim was transported to the hospital, treated and released for a non-life-threatening injury.

An investigation by members of the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Bureau and the Freehold Borough Police Department identified Woolfolk as the person responsible for the shooting incident.

Woolfolk was located and arrested later that same day. Woolfolk was transported to the Monmouth County Correctional Institution (MCCI) where he is being held pending his first appearance in Monmouth County Superior Court.
