Police Report: Theft, Criminal Mischief, DWIs

The following recent criminal incidents and arrests were reported by Shrewsbury police. An arrest does not constitute a conviction.

Criminal Incidents

• An incident of criminal mischief in the area of Broad Street was reported by a male on Jan. 20.

Patrolman Ryan Cullinane investigated.

• There was a report of theft of services in the area of Newman Springs Road and Shrewsbury Avenue made by a male on Jan. 21.

Patrolman Daniel DeCritofaro is investigating.

• There was a report of a theft in the area of Shrewsbury Avenue made by a male on Jan. 30. Patrolman Ralph Latham is investigating.

Arrests

• Wayne Downey, 34, of Holmdel, was arrested on Jan. 29 in the area of Broad Street and Newman Springs Road and charged with driving while intoxicated (DWI) by Patrolman Joseph Barnicle.

• Zachary Savacool, 23, of Sea Girt, was arrested on Jan. 31 in the area of Broad Street and charged with driving while intoxicated (DWI) by Patrolman Joseph Barnicle.

• Mark Friday, 26, of Long Branch, was arrested Jan. 29 in the area of Broad Street and charged with hindering apprehension and contempt of court (COC) by Sgt. Tracy Polk.

• Louis Hilton Jr., 48, of Egg Harbor Township, was arrested on Jan. 29in the area of Shrewsbury and Sycamore avenues on a contempt of court (COC) warrant by Patrolman Ralph Latham.
