The following recent criminal incidents and arrests were reported by Shrewsbury police. An arrest does not constitute a conviction.
Criminal Incidents
• A theft in the area of Broad Street was reported on Aug. 12. The victim reported that property worth $539 was stolen.
Patrolman Joseph Barnicle is investigating.
• The shoplifting of $770 worth of merchandise from 597 Broad Street was reported on Aug. 7.
Patrolman Kyle Ludwig is investigating.
• There was a report of identity theft in the area of Garden Road on Aug. 6. The victim reported that an unknown person made fraudulent purchases totaling $11,387.51.
Patrolman Tyler Fox is investigating.
Arrests
• James E. Dunn, 47, of Asbury Park, was arrested in the area of Broad Street on Aug. 13 and charged with shoplifting by Patrolman Angel Marrer.
• Elijah K. Grant, 21, of Red Bank, was arrested in the area of Newman Springs Road on Aug. 11 and charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance (CDS) by Patrolman Daniel DeCristofaro.
** Police reported two arrests solely on contempt of court warrants. **
