Fred “was an outstanding baseball and basketball player and ultimately chose the Jersey shore to be his lifetime home. Fred graduated from Muhlenberg College in 1952 earning three varsity letters in baseball. After his service in the Army, he played against Whitey Ford and singled off him in his first at bat. When asked how he did on his second at bat, he laughed that Whitey
struck him out on three pitches! …
He loved his family, doting on his four grandchildren, good food, all things Yankees and Notre Dame football. Fred’s love and dedication to his family and friends provided for wonderful times spent going out to lunch on Thursdays and Saturdays with
close friends and extended family.”
