Former Little Silver and Holmdel resident and area social worker, Sally A. Strehl, more recently of Shrewsbury, passed away peacefully on Dec. 21. She was 84.


Sally grew up in Bergen County, attended Douglass College and graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University. She worked as a social worker in the Monmouth County area.
Sally was a longtime member of Tower Hill Presbyterian Church of Red Bank where she was a deacon and volunteer wedding coordinator.
Sally is survived by: her sister, Jean Lammers; her brother-in law, Larry; and nephews, Brett Lammers, Matthew Lammers, John Strehl, Christopher Strehl.
She was predeceased by her husband Ron Strehl.
Interment will be held on Friday, Jan. 17, at 10:30 a.m. at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus. A memorial service will be held at noon at Tower Hill Presbyterian Church, 255 Harding Rd., Red Bank, NJ 07701. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to Tower Hill Church, 255 Harding Road, Red Bank, NJ 07701 / towerhillchurch.org.
