DWI Checkpoint Set for Start of Weekend

It’s Friday and a DWI checkpoint is set to start the summer weekend and quell impaired driving in near the Rumson-Fair Haven area in Monmouth County.

Through 1 a.m. on Saturday, all vehicles traveling north on Route 35 at will be diverted at Navesink River Road into the M&T Bank parking lot. The stop at Navesink River Road and 35 is right over the Cooper’s Bridge from Red Bank on one side and up Navesink Road from the Oceanic Bridge and Rumson on the other.

At this checkpoint at M&T Bank, drivers will be funneled into the parking lot and screened for sobriety by Monmouth County DWI Task Force members and Middletown police. Middletown police announced.

The checkpoint, as with all checkpoints, is run in cooperation with the Monmouth County DWI Task Force.
