The R-FH Area Weekend: Hanga Loose, Whale of a Sale, George Giffin Dance & Theater

The weekend forecast calls for a lot of sun and fun in the Rumson-Fair Haven area.

Plan accordingly. Get out and to all or a few of the events on tap.

Friday

• Everyone’s hangin’ loose in memory of Silvio Fabbri in the back room of Umberto’s in Fair Haven on Fridays, starting at 7 p.m.

Great way to remember Silvio and hang with friends and neighbors in the community.

“Hanga loose” and enjoy, as Silvio would say.

• Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School artists are exhibiting their work at the Guild of Creative Art, at 620 Route 35, in Shrewsbury from 6 to 8 p.m..

The exhibit will remain in the gallery, and artisan work is for sale, through April 20.

Rent opens at Brookdale Community College with an 8 p.m. curtain time.

Tickets are $12, $10 for seniors and $5 for Brookdale students.

Saturday

• The George Giffin Memorial Dance-a-Thon is coming to RFH with dancers registering starting at 3:30 p.m. and the event start time at 5 p.m. Click here for more information.

• Noel Coward’s Present Laughter is playing at the Navesink Library Theater April 18, 24, 25, May 1 and 2 with an 8:15 p.m. curtain.
Matinees are set for April 19 and 26 at 2 p.m.

Rent at Brookdale at 8 p.m.

• Rumson County Day School (RCDS) is hosting its annual Whale of a Sale at the school from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., featuring the usual treasure trove of rummage sale items, from toys to furniture and just about anything you can imagine.

Proceeds are donated to the financial aid program at RCDS.

Sunday

• Whale of a Sale at RCDS runs from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

• Matinee for Monmouth Players’ Present Laughter at 2 p.m.
