Call it a fair beginning. The end of the summer signals the start of The Fair Haven Firemen’s Fair — more than a century’s worth of big tradition in the small peninsula borough.
That start was Friday and Saturday nights. In spite of some shaky weather forecasts, Friday and Saturday’s opening nights drew the usual packed, steady crowd to the fair grounds. Many came home again to work, reunite, reminisce and keep the forever tradition going strong. Community. Camaraderie. A constant. A fair calling.
