A DWI checkpoint is set to run from Saturday night through early Sunday morning in Shrewsbury, the Monmouth County DWI Task Force announced.
The checkpoint, which will be set up in the Shrewsbury Plaza parking lot at Route 35 (Broad Street) and Shrewsbury Avenue, will run from 9 p.m. on Saturday through 2 a.m. on Sunday.
Vehicles will be pulled into the plaza lot from southbound lanes and drivers will be checked to determine whether or not they are under the influence of alcohol and/or any controlled dangerous substances and impaired, Task Force Coordinator and Brielle Police Chief Michael Palmer said.
The checkpoint is a coordinated effort between task force members and Shrewsbury police.
DWI Checkpoints in Fair Haven, Deal
The Monmouth County DWI Task Force will conduct two DWI checkpoints from Friday through Sunday, Brielle Police Chief and Task Force Coordinator Michael W. Palmer announced.

Sea Bright DWI Checkpoint
Sea Bright police, in conjunction with the Monmouth County DWI Task Force, will hold a DWI checkpoint late Friday night into Saturday morning in Sea Bright.
Vehicles will be directed from the northbound lanes of Ocean Avenue into the Sea Bright Borough Parking Lot from 11 p.m. Friday to 3 a.m. Saturday where drivers’ sobriety will be gauged, according to the Task Force.
DWI Checkpoint in Fair Haven
There will be a DWI checkpoint in Fair Haven Friday night through Saturday morning.
The check point, sponsored by the Monmouth County DWI Task Force in cooperation with the Fair Haven Police Department, will be set up in the Acme parking lot on River Road from 10 p.m. Friday through 2 a.m. Saturday.
Fair Haven police will be pulling vehicles into the parking lot from the eastbound lanes of River Road to assess drivers’ sobriety, according to task force authorities.
DWI Checkpoint Starts Saturday Night
Monmouth County DWI Task Force members and West Long Branch police will be conducting a DWI checkpoint on Route 36 in West Long Branch from late Saturday night through early Sunday morning.
Officers will be pulling vehicles from westbound lanes into the Monmouth Park Corporate Center parking lot from 11 p.m. Saturday through 3 a.m. Sunday to conduct sobriety checks, a release from the Task Force’s coordinator, Brielle Police Chief Michael W. Palmer, said in a release.
The checkpoint is being set up in cooperation with the NJ State Police.
DWI Checkpoint in Monmouth County
There will be a DWI checkpoint in Deal Saturday night through early Sunday morning.
The Monmouth County DWI Task force will have the checkpoint set up at the Deal Casino parking lot on Ocean Avenue in Deal from 11 p.m. to 3 a.m., pulling vehicles from northbound lanes into the lot to check drivers’ sobriety, Monmouth County DWI Task Force Coordinator and Brielle Police Chief Michael W. Palmer said.
