Friday night is the night — homecoming football game at RFH and, well, carnival.

There is no Thanksgiving Day game anymore welcoming RFH alum back from college in a mini reunion of sorts. The game isn’t against Red Bank Catholic (RBC). There’s no dance the night before the game with invites to those alumni who came home from college for the first time. And, the latest controversy among many RFHers of the past and present is the nixing of the homecoming king and queen.

But, on thing there will be is a lot of cheering at the game pitting RFH against SJV (Saint John Vianney) from 7 to 9 p.m. at the high school’s Borden Stadium.

So, in ode to the staple of the cheer, albeit not really the same either, especially with these pictured gems, the Retro Pic of the (George) Day brings us back to a very enthusiastic cheer at the hands and crazy hearts of some RFH guys in 1977.

Hey, purple! Hey, white! You look so good to meeeee!

Many thanks, again, to photographer George Day for this priceless look back in RFH time!
