Prosecutor: Monmouth County Man Charged in Homicide

A Monmouth County man has been arrested in connection with the homicide of a 57-year-old male at a senior citizen complex in the same city, Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher J. Gramiccioni said on Thursday.

Late on Wednesday evening, Knowledge B. Allah, 54, of Asbury Park, was charged in connection with the death of Salah Ali, 57, also of Asbury Park.

Allah has been charged with first-degree murder, third-degree possession of a weapon (knife) for an unlawful purpose and second-degree disturbing of human remains.

The case background … 

Ali’s deceased body was found on Wednesday morning inside the Dr. Robinson Towers, 1000 Third Avenue. Asbury Park police responded to a 911 call around 11:18 a.m. requesting first aid for a fall victim at the complex. Police arrived to find the victim lying in a stairwell of the building.

Allah is being held at the Monmouth County Correctional Institution in Freehold. His initial appearance is slated for this afternoon (Thursday) before Judge David F. Bauman.

The incident remains under investigation.
