Prosecutor: Dead Body Identified; Cause of Death Under Investigation

Authorities have identified a female victim whose body was discovered in Wall Township, Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher J. Gramiccioni announced on Friday.

Jami Leis, 35, was found dead in the area of Brighton Avenue and Rockefeller Drive in Wall Township.

Wall Township Police Department responded to an initial call at 10:29 a.m. reporting the discovery of a body wrapped in a tarp and called for assistance from the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office.

Route 18 southbound exit ramps 7A and 7B were closed for several hours for the investigation along with Brighton Avenue between Route 18 and Romano Boulevard. New Jersey State Police and the New Jersey Department of Transportation assisted with the road closures. All roads were reopened at approximately 3:24 p.m.

There were no visible injuries to Leis. An autopsy is being performed to determine cause and manner of death.
