Police: Two Arrests Involving Heroin Possession, $15K Bail

The following recent arrests were reported by Middletown police. An arrest does not constitute a conviction. 

• Obinna Okafor, 38, of North 9th Street in Newark, was arrested on May 22 and charged with theft by Detective Keith Hirschbein.

He was released pending a court date.

• Kirsten Miller, 20, of Concord Avenue in the Leonardo section of Middletown, was arrested on May 19 and charged with shoplifting from the Foodtown store by Patrolman Savvas Roumeliotis.

She was released pending a court date.

• Bryan McKee, 25, of Pedee Place in Middletown, was arrested on May 22 by Patrolman Jesse Toma and charged with obstructing the administration of law.

He was released pending a court date.

• Jake Fritzler, 23, of North Monticello Avenue in Chicago, IL, was arrested on May 22 by Sergeant Donald Coates and charged with possession of under 50 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was released pending a court date.

• On May 21, Patrolman Charles Higgins arrested a 17-year-old male juvenile from Matawan and charged him with simple assault.

He was released pending a court date.

• Taylor Tabasco, 24, of Tulip Lane in Freehold, was arrested on May 24 by Patrolman James Beirne and charged with providing false information to a police officer, possession of drug paraphernalia, aggravated assault on a police officer, possession of heroin, unlawful possession of Alprazolam and on a contempt of court warrant issued by the Holmdel Municipal Court.

She was held on $15,250 bail, set by Judge Richard Thompson.

• Dennis Bannon, 51, of Route 36 in the Leonardo section of Middletown, was arrested on May 23 by Patrolman Savvas Roumeliotis and charged with disorderly conduct.

He was released pending a court date.

• Alexander Potts, 33, of Main Street in the Port Monmouth section of Middletown, was arrested on May 24 by Patrolman Patrick Leonard and charged with driving while intoxicated.

He was released pending a court date.

• Raymond Czorniewy, 55, of Danemar Drive in Middletown, was arrested on May 25 by Cpl. James Keenan and charged with disorderly conduct.

He was released pending a court date.

• Barbara Torres, 27, of Garden Place in Spring Lake Heights, was arrested on May 24 by Patrolman James Beirne and charged with driving while intoxicated.

She was released pending a court date.

• Sean Haviland, 23, of Park Avenue in Middletown, was arrested on May 25 by Police Officer Tara Stucy and charged with obstructing the administration of law, resisting arrest, possession of under 50 grams of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, tampering with evidence and possession of heroin.

He was held on $15,000 bail set by Judge Richard Thompson.

• Stephanie Cole, 22, of Apple Blossom Lane in Middletown, was arrested on May 28 by Patrolman Ricardo Cruz and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of under 50 grams of marijuana.

She was released pending a court date.

• Jennifer Smith, 48, of 7th Street in the Belford section of Middletown, was arrested on May 26 by Patrolman Adam Colfer and charged with driving while intoxicated.

She was released pending a court date.

• Alan Sullivan, 69, of Hollie Drive West in the Belford section of Middletown, was arrested on May 26 by Patrolman Brian McGrogan and charged with driving while intoxicated.

He was released pending a court date.

• Patrick Weinheimer, 31, of Many Mind Avenue in Atlantic Highlands, was arrested on May 26 by Patrolman Michael Heaton and charged with theft.

He was released pending a court date.

• Candace Read, 35, of Railroad Avenue in the Belford section of Middletown, was arrested on May 26 by Police Officer Stephanie Geisel and charged with shoplifting from the Foodtown store.

She was released pending a court date.

• On May 27, Patrolman Nicholas Fenezia arrested four juveniles from Middletown and charged them with criminal mischief and criminal trespass.

All juveniles were released pending a court date.

• Theresa Whittaker, 24, of Aspen Lane in Tinton Falls, was arrested on May 28 by Patrolman Patrick Leonard and charged with driving while intoxicated, possession of under 50 grams of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and being under the Influence of a controlled dangerous substance.

She was released pending a court date.

• Linda Coffey, 54, of Leonardville Road in the Leonardo section of Middletown, was arrested on May 28 by Patrolman Nicholas Fenezia and charged with resisting arrest and obstructing the administration of law.

She was released pending a court date.

• Christina Calavano, 19, of Hamilton Avenue in the Leonardo section of Middletown, was arrested on May 28 by Patrolman Christopher Menendez and charged with possession of a hypodermic syringe and possession of heroin.

She was released after posting $5,000 bail with a 10 percent option set by Judge Richard Thompson.

• Brian Clancy, 23, of Baldwin Avenue in Middletown, was arrested on May 28 by Patrolman James Beirne and charged with tampering with evidence, possession of under 50 grams of marijuana and on a contempt of court warrant issued by the Rumson Municipal Court.

He was released after posting $1,000 bail.

• Ronald Shopp, 28, of Elm Avenue in the Belford section of Middletown, was arrested on May 28 by Detective Keith Hirschbein and charged with possession of heroin, possession of heroin with the intent to distribute, possession of a hypodermic syringe and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was held on $22,500 bail.
