In Memoriam: Longtime Shrewsbury Resident, Ryan Patrick Martin

Longtime Shrewsbury resident, Ryan Patrick Martin, passed away suddenly on Sept. 28.

Born in Red Bank, Patrick lived in Shrewsbury for most of his life. A graduate of Shrewsbury Boro School, Red Bank Regional High School and St. Joseph’s University in Philadelphia, PA, Ryan was employed as director of Recruiting for Fusion Recruiting Labs in Middletown. Prior to that Ryan acquired his Series 7 and 66 licenses and was a financial planner for Merrill Lynch in Baltimore, MD.

“Ryan was a great student athlete throughout his youth. He played competitive travel soccer for The Peninsula Eagles premier soccer team, and later with Matchfit Academy. He played competitive travel baseball and basketball throughout his youth as well and later earned 9 Varsity letters at Red Bank Regional High School in 3 sports. Ryan truly enjoyed being with his extended family for the many holidays and celebrations over the years. He was a big fan of the NY Yankees and NY Jets. He always wore #2 for his favorite player, Derek Jeter. He enjoyed most being with Sharon and her daughter Grace. He will be truly missed by his friends, cousins, aunts, uncles, and his immediate family.”

Ryan leaves behind: his parents, Kenneth and Cathy Martin, of Shrewsbury; his sister, Katelyn Moliver and brother-in-law Harrison Moliver, of Atlantic Highlands, NJ; his sister, Kelly Martin and future brother-in-law Austin Dam, of Neptune City; his younger brother, Corey Martin, also of Shrewsbury; several aunts, uncles, cousins, friends; and his longtime girlfriend, Sharon Zitzman.

The family held a private funeral for Ryan and he was entombed at Holmdel Cemetery and Mausoleum in Holmdel. Thompson Memorial Home, Red Bank, has been trusted with the arrangements.
