Dwight’s greatest love was his family, who will always be thankful for his constant gentle guidance and support. He especially enjoyed sharing his love of reading, music and sports with his three grandsons, taking them on countless fun-seeking adventures, from mini-golf, arcades, and go-carting to music shows, barbecues, and boat ridesDwight also enjoyed hiking, skiing, and biking, with many family vacations planned around exploring the outdoors. Former longtime Fair Havenite and borough Planning Board member, Dwight Macock, more recently of Oceanport, passed away peacefully at home on May 10, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. He was 70.

Prosecutor: Former Judge in Rumson & 8 Other Towns Pleads Guilty to Falsifying Records

A former Monmouth County Municipal Court judge, who was on the bench in Rumson among other area towns, has pleaded guilty to falsifying records in connection with a scheme of fixing municipal court dispositions to benefit several municipalities where he served as a judge, Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher J. Gramiccioni said on Friday. His plea forever disqualifies Thompson from being a municipal court judge or holding any other public employment.

Caution: DWI Checkpoint in Monmouth

Going somewhere and planning on having cocktails? The Monmouth County DWI Task Force advises that you use discretion and not drink over the .08 blood-alcohol limit and drive or appoint a designated sober driver.

The Monmouth County DWI Task Force, in collaboration with the Oceanport Police Department is conducting a DWI checkpoint to determine drivers’ sobriety in Oceanport tonight, July 10, into Sunday morning.

The checkpoint will area will be set up at Fort Monmouth’s 400 area on Oceanport Avenue. Vehicles will be directed from northbound lanes on Oceanport Avenue into the lot from 11 p.m. tonight to 3 a.m. on Saturday.
