In Memoriam: Longtime Little Silver Resident Joan Verdon Peer, 84

Longtime Little Silver resident Joan Verdon Peer passed away peacefully at home on Dec. 15 surrounded by “her adoring husband Norman, and her children whom she loved so much.” She was 84. 

A longstanding volunteer for the Little Silver First Aid Squad, Joan was its captain in 1982.

In Memoriam: Little Silver Resident Claire Deverin, 93

There is a saying ~ “People may not remember what you said, but will always remember how you made them feel.”  If you were fortunate enough to know and spend time with Claire you felt loved.

Little Silver and Jupiter, Florida resident Claire Deverin passed away peacefully on Aug. 6 with her family by her side. She was 93.

“She was a former member of Holy Cross Church in Rumson and St. Christopher Church in Hope Sound, FL. 
Claire was a member of the Navesink and Jupiter Hills country clubs, where she enjoyed playing competitive golf, paddle and tennis.  For many years she was a volunteer and committee member at
the Children’s Psychiatric Center of Monmouth County and
several other local charities.   
Most of all, she was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who cherished the time spent with family and friends.”

Claire is predeceased by: her husband of 65 years, Bernard; her son, Gerry; and her two sisters, Myrna Anderson and Jean Frank.

She is survived by: her four children, Bernie (wife Midge), Sean, Charlene (husband Robin Kirtley), Eileen (husband Harry Radovich); daughter-in-law, Lori Deverin; sister, Lucille Roberts; and her adored sixteen grandchildren, Margaux, James, Walter, Grace, Sean, Macauley, Conor, Hugh, Tori, Harry, Kendall, Hayden, Peter, Ryan, Peter, and Kathleen.

The Deverin family would like to extend a very warm and special thank you to her friends and aides Paula, Desere, Sandy, Tina and Milly for their love, kindness and care over the last several years.

There will be a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, Aug. 11, at 11:15 a.m. at St. James Roman Catholic Church in Red Bank.
