Rumsonite Heidi Lynn Sculthorpe was known as a woman who loved the water.
She passed away on April 25, 2008; and her love of all things water-centric, family and friends was something that loved ones noted as everlasting. In fact, her obituary cited that in lieu of flowers, donations should be sent to Monmouth University’s Urban Coast Institute (UCI).
You never know when your ship will come in, when you’ll catch a perfect view of a Sea Bright sunrise or both.
Well, Rumsonite and RFH Class of ’78 grad Doug Borden got a good dose of both this morning.
Headed over the Rumson/Sea Bright Bridge toward Sea Bright beach, he got a good glimpse of a glorious sunrise and, yes, a ship passing (or coming in for him, if you will).

Rumson dad and RFH alumni Doug Borden got an unexpected treat today while starting his morning at Sea Bright beach — with a porpoise, one could say, or, more likely, a dolphin.
Sun shining and weather still mild enough for a beach stroll, he got to Sea Bright at about 8:45 a.m., just in time to catch a school of bottle-nosed dolphins swimming their way south in the ocean.
“I would say dolphin, I just say porpoise so no one confuses them with the Mahi Mahi dolphin which is a fish,” Borden said.
