The R-FH Area Weekend: Spaghetti & a Memorial

Well, the weather report for the weekend calls for temperatures warming up and a little rain. You could say that fair weather bodes well this weekend for a couple of Fair Haven events.

On Saturday …

• The Fair Haven Fire Department will host its annual Spaghetti Dinner from 5 to 8 p.m. at, of course, the firehouse on River Road.

The dinner features the usual home-cooked sauce with spaghetti, homemade meatballs, Italian bread, salad and dessert.

Cost is $5 for kids and $10 for adults; and it’s all you can eat, so, as the poster says, “bring a friend, bring a neighbor, bring your appetite.”

It’s also BYOB, so bring your own bottle of whatever you like.

And on Sunday …

The memorial celebration for lifetime Fair Havenite, longtime borough police officer and fireman Donny Frank will kick off at the Fair Haven Firehouse as well.

The memorial starts at noon and runs ’til 4. All are invited to come and pay their respects to Frank and celebrate his life.
