Two area men have been arrested in connection with a local narcotics distribution ring, Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher J. Gramiccioni said on Monday.
A three-month-long collaborative investigation by detectives from the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotics and Criminal Enterprise Unit, Eatontown, Oceanport, and Union Beach police, and authorities from the Monmouth County Sheriff’s Office led to the March 24 arrests of Herbert Standard, 41, of Asbury Park, and Mark Standard, 40, of Oceanport.
The arrests came after search warrants were executed at the Crystal Inn, Eatontown, and a residence at 9 Gosselin Avenue in Oceanport as well as two vehicles.
In the search, detectives recovered more than 300 grams of cocaine, several pounds of marijuana, roughly $1,000 in cash, and drug packaging materials.
Herbert Standard, of Eatontown, been charged with: first-degree possession of a controlled dangerous substance with the intent to distribute, third-degree possession of a controlled dangerous substance, fourth-degree possession of a controlled dangerous substance, and third-degree possession of a controlled dangerous substance with the intent to distribute. He being held in the Monmouth County Correctional Institution pending a detention hearing.
Mark Standard has been charged with possession of paraphernalia and was released on a summons.
