Prosecutor: Suspect Sought in Tuesday Shooting

Authorities are seeking the public’s help in identifying the individual(s) involved in a shooting in Asbury Park on Tuesday afternoon during which one man was injured, Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher J. Gramiccioni said.

At 4:06 p.m. on Tuesday, the Asbury Park Police Department responded to the area of 1400 Main Street to a report of shots fired. Officers found a 2017 Nissan Altima which sustained a single gun-shot to the driver’s side door. The Altima was not owned by the male victim.

The victim arrived at the Neptune Township Police Department at approximately 5:35 p.m., suffering from a non-life threatening gun-shot wound to the leg. He was taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center for treatment.

A gun shot was also located on a garbage can near the south side of 1400 Main Street.

This is an active and ongoing investigation.
