Prosecutor: Motorcycle Driver Killed in Collision

An area man has died as the result of a Tuesday evening motor vehicle crash in Neptune Township, Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher J. Gramiccioni said on Wednesday.

Michael Miller, 54, of Tinton Falls, was driving his 1986 Suzuki motorcycle along Route 33 at approximately 8:58p.m. when he was struck by a 2012 Ford Escape driven by Jose Pastrama, 52, of Neptune City.

Miller was attempting to make a turn onto the northbound roadway near the intersection of West Bangs Avenue. The SUV struck the motorcycle and Miller was ejected from his seat.

Miller was transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune Township where he was pronounced dead at 9:59 p.m. that night.

The crash remains under investigation by the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office, Monmouth County Serious Collision Analysis Response Team (SCART) and Neptune Township Police Department.
