Police Report: Theft & Criminal Mischief

The following recent criminal incidents were reported by Red Bank police:

• The theft of a purple Trek mountain bike with a support bar and slightly rusted wheels, valued at about $300, from the area of Maple Avenue was reported on Aug. 13.

• The theft of a juvenile lime green mountain bike with a rusty chain, valued at $100, from an East Bergen Place front porch was reported on Aug. 9.
Patrolman Shane Dengel took the report.
• A theft in the area of Riverside Avenue was reported on Aug. 7. It was reported that a custom handmade Italian 18K gold cross necklace, valued at $1000, was stolen from a residence.

• A theft in the area of Marine Park was reported on Aug. 7. It was reported that several fishing poles were taken from a docked boat. The poles were described as: a black Penn pole black with a white reel, valued at $250; a black Shimano pole, valued at $250; one pole with an unknown make, model and color, valued at $250; a tackle box with several fishing items inside with the name John Werner on top, valued at $500; one case net 5-foot nylon, valued at $75; one Garmin GPS map 420’s chart recorder, valued at $750; and one Garmin Fish Finder, valued at $350.

• An incident of criminal mischief in the area of Locust Avenue was reported on Aug. 7.  It was reported that someone threw two beer bottles through an apartment window.

• An incident of criminal mischief in the area of West Front Street was reported on Aug. 6. Several juveniles were reportedly throwing rocks at windows at the back of a house, breaking several.

• The theft of a black/grey Giant Mountain bicycle with a blue pin stripe from a bike rack on Maple Avenue was reported on Aug. 5. The bike is valued at roughly $500.

• A theft in the area of Bridge Avenue was reported on Aug. 3. A Stuart Pitman Yield Field painting valued at $1,500, a Heather Ford painting valued at $400, two antique brass dog book ends valued at $100, a set of Ikea curtains valued at $30 and an unknown brand external hard drive were reportedly taken while the victims were moving into their new residence.
