Police Report: Forgery, Theft, DWI

The following recent criminal incidents and arrests were reported by Shrewsbury police. An arrest does not constitute a conviction.

Criminal Incidents

• A forgery in the area of Newman Springs Road was reported on Nov. 13. The victim reported that there was an attempt to pass counterfeit bills.

Patrolman Ralph Latham is investigating.

• There was a report of theft by deception in the area of Blades Run Drive on Nov. 13. The victim reported that someone posed as IRS and requested funds via gift cards in the amount of $12,000.

Patrolman Derek Myers is investigating.

• A theft in the area of Shrewsbury Avenue was reported on Nov. 12. The victim reported that property was removed.

Patrolman Ralph Latham is investigating.

Arrests

• Florelee Wan, 41, of Matawan, was arrested in the area of Patterson Avenue on Nov. 11 and charged with driving while intoxicated (DWI) by Patrolman Kyle Ludwig.

• Diane Berking, 53, of Eatontown, was arrested in the area of Broad Street on Nov. 10 and charged with driving while intoxicated (DWI) by Sgt. Matthew Clark.

**Two people were arrested solely on contempt of court warrants.**
