Police Report: $2.7K Shoplifting, Identity Theft

The following recent criminal incidents and arrests were reported by Shrewsbury police. An arrest does not constitute a conviction.

Criminal Incident

• A shoplifting of $2,687 worth of merchandise in the area of Broad Street was reported on Feb. 14.

Patrolman Joseph Barnicle is investigating.

• A shoplifting of $87.96 worth of merchandise in the area of Shrewsbury Avenue was reported Feb. 14.

Sgt. Jessica Boyd is investigating.

• There was a report of theft by deception in the area of Newman Springs Road on Feb. 13. The victim reported that someone used fraudulent coupons to discount merchandise.

Patrolman Kyle Ludwig is investigating.

• There was a report of identity theft in the area of North Park Avenue on Feb. 12. The victim rerouted that someone posed as a representative for a federal agency to obtain personal information.

Patrolman Tyler Fox is investigating.

• A shoplifting of $65.45 worth of merchandise in the area of Shrewsbury Avenue was reported on Feb. 12.
