Fair Haven Police Report: DWI, Theft, Fraud, Harassment, ID Theft

The following April criminal incidents and arrests were reported by Fair Haven police. An arrest does not constitute a conviction.

Criminal Incidents

• A Lewis Lane resident reported an incident of harassment on April 30 — that a previous acquaintance had sent her hundreds of emails during the previous weeks.

Sgt. Stephen Schneider took the report. 

• A Hance Road resident reported on April 17 that a laptop computer was stolen from a vehicle in the overnight hours.

Patrolman Michael Volker took the report. 

• A River Road resident reported on April 10 that an unknown person attempted to open several accounts fraudulently using the victim’s personal information.

Patrolman Brooks Robinson took the report. 

• A Church Street resident reported on April 6 that an unknown person had used his identity several years ago to make online purchases on a website. The identity theft was discovered during a credit check for a real estate transaction.

• A Lake Avenue resident reported receiving a suspicious package in the mail on April 4.

Sgt. Jesse Dykstra took the report.

• A Lake Avenue resident reported an incident of credit card fraud on April 2. The victim reported that an unknown person purchased several thousand dollars’ worth of watches using her credit card.

Arrests

• Kent Provine, 62, of the Lincroft section of Middletown, was arrested on April 11 and charged with driving while intoxicated (DWI) by Sgt. Stephen Schneider following a motor vehicle violation stop.
