Crime Close By: Police Report Rash of Business Burglaries

The following criminal recent incidents were reported by Red Bank police.

• A theft was reported to have occurred on July 10 at a North Bridge Avenue parking lot. The victim reported that someone stole her purse, containing paperwork, sunglasses, a charger and more, from a parked car.

Patrolman Kristin Altimari took the report.

• An incident of criminal mischief was reported to have occurred on July 10 at a Mechanic Street parking lot. Juveniles were observed lighting a fire cracker on the trunk of a parked vehicle, causing damage to it.

Patrolman David Smith took the report.

• A theft was reported to have occurred at a Leroy Place residence on July 11. The victim reported that a Play Station and cash was stolen from their apartment.

Patrolman Kristin Altimari took the report.

• A robbery was reported to have occurred on July 14 in the area of River Street and Tilton Avenue. A cab driver reported that an unknown male passenger pulled a gun on him and demanded all his money. The driver reported that he turned over $86 in cash and the perpetrator fled.

• An attempted burglary was reported to have occurred at a West Bergen Place business between July 14 and 15. An unknown perpetrator reportedly tried to gain access into a building. The window was broken ad the door had pry marks on it. No entry was gained.

Lt. Robert Clayton investigated.

• A burglary was reported to have occurred sometime between July 14 and 15 at a Newman Springs Road business. An unknown perpetrator broke the glass door in, gained entry and stole cash from the register.

• A burglary was reported to have occurred sometime between July 14 and 15 at an East Newman Springs Road restaurant. An unknown perpetrator(s) gained entry into the  restaurant by smashing glass in the front door. Once inside, the register drawer was pulled open and cash stolen.

• A burglary was reported to have occurred sometime between July 14 and 15 at a Maple Avenue business. An unknown perpetrator(s) pried front door to business open and gained entry. Three desks were damaged and broken into and a large amount of cash was stolen.

Patrolman Nicholas Maletto and Sgt. Wendy Samis responded.

• A burglary was reported to have occurred sometime between July 14 and 15 at a Newman Springs Road business. The perpetrator(s) gained entry into the business by forcing the front door open. Once inside, the register was removed and cash was stolen.

Police Make DWI, Obstruction, Disorderly Arrests

The following recent arrests were made and reported by Red Bank police. An arrest does not constitute a conviction.

• Hugo Cruz, 32, of Red Bank, was arrested on July 5 in the area of Catherine Street and charged with DWI (driving while intoxicated)  by Patrolman Stanley Balmer.

• Elezar Garcia-Avendano, 36, of Red Bank, was arrested on July 5 in the area of Shrewsbury Avenue and charged with DWI (driving while intoxicated) by Patrolman Jorge Torres.

• Tajhi Tomaino, 20, of Red Bank, was arrested on July 3 in the area of Tilton Avenue and charged with obstructing administration of law and resisting arrest by Patrolman Kristin Altimari.

• Mark Scaliti, 48, of Middletown, was arrested on July 3 in the area of Broad Street and charged with disorderly conduct by Patrolman Ashon Lovick.

• Shaquan Jackson, 23, of Tinton Falls, was arrested on July 2  in the area of S. Pearl Street on a COC (contempt of court) charge by Patrolman George Travostino.

• Edwin Segura, 26, of Red Bank, was arrested on July 2 in the area of Wharf Avenue on a COC (contempt of court) charge by Patrolman John Camarca.

• William Manser, 35, of Ocean, was arrested on July 6 in the area of Riverview Plaza on a COC (contempt of court) charge by Patrolman Sean Hauschildt.

• Markies Wells, 29, of Red Bank, was arrested on July 5 in the area of Monmouth Street on a COC (contempt of court) charge by Patrolman Benjamin Springer.

• Kelvin Gonzalez, 23, of Red Bank, was arrested on July 4 in the area of Chestnut Street on a COC (contempt of court) charge by Patrolman Shane Dengel.

• Tariek Boynton, 25, of Red Bank, was arrested on July 3 in the area of Monmouth Street on a COC (contempt of court) charge by Patrolman Michael Zadlock.

Police Report Incidents of Theft, Burglary, Criminal Mischief

The following recent criminal incidents were reported by Red Bank police:

• A burglary, theft was reported to have occurred on E. Westside Avenue on July 4. The victim reported that someone gained entry into their residence by removing a window air conditioning unit. The victim reported that jewelry, prescription drugs and $100 worth of beef were stolen.

• A theft was reported to have occurred at a Chapin Avenue nursing home on July 4. The victim reported that someone stole cash from her room.

• An incident of criminal mischief was reported to have occurred sometime between July 7 and 8 on Drummond Avenue. The victim reported that someone keyed his parked vehicle.

Patrolman Cevin Albert took the report.

• A burglary was reported to have occurred sometime between July 7 and 8 at a Leighton Avenue residence. The victim reported that an unknown person or unknown persons gained entry into a residence by breaking the lock on the rear door. Two iPads were reported stolen.

The following recent arrests were made and reported by Red Bank police. An arrest does not constitute a conviction.

• Alexander Gaita, 24, of Middletown, was arrested on July 2 in the area of Morford Place and charged with hindering apprehension, possession of a CDS (under 50 grams of marijuana), receiving stolen property and contempt of court by Patrolman John Camarca.

• A juvenile male, 13, of Red Bank was arrested on July 1 in the area of E. Westside Avenue and charged with possession of a CDS (under 50 grams of marijuana) by Patrolman Nicholas Maletto.

• Sayyied Rida, 36, of Middletown was arrested on July 1 in the area of River Street on a contempt of court charge by Ptl. Nicholas Maletto.

• James Gaudio, 18, of the Lincroft section of Middletown, Michael Walker, 18, of Middletown, Dominic Carrea,18, of the Leonardo section of Middletown, and Cameron Docherty, 18, of Middletown, were arrested on July 1 in the area of Bridge Avenue and charged with possession of a CDS (under 50 grams of marijuana), and possession of drug paraphernalia by Patrolman George Travostino.

Police Report Theft, Criminal Mischief

The following recent incidents of theft and criminal mischief were reported by Red Bank police:

• A theft was reported to have occurred on June 25 at a Broad Street business. There were reports of an unknown person or persons shoplifting expensive cosmetics — body and face creams — over the past 10 months.

Patrolman Ashon Lovick took the report.

• A theft was reported to have occurred sometime between June 25 and 26 on Hudson Avenue. The victim reported that a necklace was stolen from a parked car.

Patrolman Kristin Altimari took the report.

• A theft was reported on June 27 to have occurred sometime between May 14 and 21. The victim’s husband reported that while his wife was hospitalized at Riverview Medical Center, someone stole credit cards and a driver’s license from her wallet.

• An incident of criminal mischief was reported to have occurred on Bank Street on June 28. Damage was reportedly done to the front door of a vacant residence and the rear window of a parked van.

• An incident of criminal mischief was reported to have occurred on June 30 at a West Bergen Place residence. The victim reported that several unknown juveniles threw eggs at the house.

• An incident of criminal mischief was reported to have occurred between June 28 and July 1 on Harding Road. there was a report of someone smashing a window on a parked vehicle.

Police Report Criminal Mischief, Theft

The following recent criminal incidents were reported by Red Bank police:

• An incident of criminal mischief was reported to have occurred sometime between June 18 and 19 at a West Bergen Place residence. The victim reported that someone threw rocks at a parked vehicle and cracked the windshield and broke the rear driver’s side window.

• A theft was reported to have occurred sometime between June 19 and 20 at an apartment at 50 Locust Avenue. The victim reported that someone stole his iPhone and cash from the apartment.

Arresting News: Contempt of Court

The following recent arrests on contempt of court charges were made by Red Bank police:

• John Cioffoletti, 45, of Fair Haven, was arrested on June 17 in the area of Monmouth Street and charged with contempt of court (COC) by Patrolman David Smith.

• Norberto Rivera, 51, of Red Bank, was arrested on June 16 in the area of Reckless Place and charged with contempt of court (COC) by Patrolman Benjamin Springer.

• Pedro Christian, 46, of Matawan, was arrested on June 16 in the area of Monmouth Street and charged with contempt of court (COC) by Patrolman Benjamin Springer.

• Samuel Colon, 22, of Mount Holly, was arrested on June 11 in the area of Shrewsbury Avenue and charged with contempt of court (COC) by Patrolman Shane Dengel.

• Javier Martinez, 29, of Mount Holly, was arrested on June 11 in the area of Shrewsbury Avenue and charged with contempt of court (COC) by Patrolman Matthew Ehrenreich.

• An incident of criminal mischief was reported to have occurred on June 15 on West Street. There was a report of a window broken on the outside of a building.

• An incident of criminal mischief was reported to have occurred on June 17 at a Washington Street residence. The victim reported that someone threw a small table left out for trash at a parked vehicle and dented it.

• Noah Dubuss, 28, and Louie Magnus, 26, both of Red Bank were arrested on June 18 in the area of South Street and charged with disorderly conduct, possession of a CDS (under 50 grams of marijuana) and possession of narcotic paraphernalia by Patrolman Nicholas Maletto and Patrolman George Travostino.

• Caroline Dorsett, 42, of Red Bank, was arrested on June 17 in the area of Pearl Street and charged with harassment by Patrolman John Camarca.

• A 17-year-old male juvenile, of Middletown, was arrested on June 15 in the area of Shrewsbury Avenue and charged with possession of a CDS (under 50 grams of marijuana), and possession of drug paraphernalia by Patrolman Ashon Lovick.

• Marc Peterson, 30, of Red Bank, was arrested on June 13 in the area of Broad Street and charged with driving while intoxicated (DWI) by Patrolman George Travostino.

• Adam Salama, 24, of Hazlet, was arrested on June 13 in the area of Monmouth Street and charged with disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, possession of a CDS (hash oil), and possession of narcotic paraphernalia by Patrolman Nicholas Maletto.

• Courtney Rossine, 21, of Lincroft, was arrested on June 12 in the area of W. Front Street and charged with driving while intoxicated (DWI) by Patrolman Stanley Balmer.

• Jorge Cheves-Flores, 36, of Long Branch, was arrested on June 9 in the area of E. Front Street and charged with prohibited weapons, possession of a weapon with unlawful purpose by Patrolman John Camarca.

• Robert Vaccarelli, 38, of Bradley Beach, was arrested on June 8  in the area of Maple Avenue and charged with possession of a CDS, under 50 grams of marijuana, by Patrolman Kristin Altimari.

• Edward Moore, 39, of Forked River, was arrested on June 9 in the area of Shrewsbury Avenue and charged with DWI by Patrolman George Travostino.

• Jennifer Anderson, 23, of Freehold, was arrested on June 8 in the area of Montgomery Terrace and charged with disorderly conduct by Patrolman Cevin Albert.

• Mario Oldani, 26, of Red Bank, was arrested on June 7 in the area of Monmouth Street and charged with burglary and theft by Patrolman Ashon Lovick.

• Justin Distiler, 30, of Middletown, was arrested on June 6 in the area of Locust Avenue and charged with defiant trespass by Patrolman Benjamin Springer.

• Rogelio Bodolla-Crespo, 39, of Red Bank, was arrested on June 5 in the area of Chestnut Street and charged with possession of a CDS, cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and obstructing administration of law by Patrolman Sean Hauschildt.

• Amy Matheny , 45, of Red Bank, was arrested on June 5 in the area of Chestnut Street and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia by Patrolman Sean Hauschildt.

• Daniel Trembley, 32, of Red Bank, was arrested on June 3 in the area of Linden Place and charged with simple assault by Patrolman Michael Zadlock.

• Juan Santamaria-Torres, 39, of Red Bank, was arrested on May 31 in the area of Locust Avenue and charged with disorderly conduct by Patrolman Sean Hauschildt.

• Sydney Brown, 38, of Red Bank, was arrested on May 31  in the area of Mechanic Street and charged with obstructing administration of law by Patrolman Kristin Altimari.

• David Hayden, 57, of Brick, was arrested on May 29 in the area of Newman Springs Road and charged with DWI by Patrolman Shane Dengel.

• Nicolas Vargas, 22, of Asbury Park, was arrested on May 28 in the area of Shrewsbury Avenue and charged with possession of a CDS, cocaine, and possession of a CDS, under 50 grams of marijuana, and unlawful possession of weapons by Patrolman Kristin Altimari.

• Two male juveniles, both 17, of Red Bank were arrested on May 28 in the area of Linden Place and charged with disorderly conduct by Patrolman Michael Zadlock.

• A theft was reported to have occurred on May 27 on Harding Road. The victim reported that someone stole an iPhone, gold earrings, an HP Tablet and a Garmin GPS unit from a parked car.

• A theft was reported to have occurred at a Locust Avenue apartment on May 30. The victim reported that someone entered the apartment and stole an iPhone.

Fair Haven PBA Kudos to a Red Bank K9

Call him a dogged public servant who had some howling success helping a brother out.

Red Bank K9 Hunter, partner of Patrolman Stanley Balmer, was brought to the aid of the Fair Haven Police Department, providing key assistance to officers in a motor vehicle stop on Saturday night, according to a Fair Haven PBA Facebook post.

Hunter, according to Red Bank police in their own post, was called in for a vehicle search after the stop. The search, dubbed Hunter’s “first successful scent” uncovered “marijuana and a weapon.”

Red Bank police are proud and Fair Haven officers are grateful.

“Thank you to K9 Hunter and Ptl. Balmer of the Red Bank Police Dept. for assistance last night,” police said in the Facebook post.

• Myron Dismuke, 44, of Long Branch, was arrested on May 25 in the area of Monmouth Street and charged with harassment by Patrolman Sean Hauschildt.

• Caesar Hernandez, 18, of Red Bank, was arrested on May 25 in the area of Evergreen Terrace and charged with defiant trespass, possession of a CDS (marijuana, under 50 grams, and unlawful possession of a weapon by Patrolman Benjamin Springer.

• Armando Cruz, 27, of Red Bank, was arrested on May 24 in the area of Bank Street and charged with resisting arrest by force by Patrolman Benjamin Springer.
