As the the after-effects of the sopping home run of a nor’easter settle into the ground and sign-of-spring buds peer from under the snow-capped slush, RFH’s baseball season is set for full bloom opening two home games on Saturday.

All bases are covered and loaded for the season’s start. So, once again, we offer a little pre-opening games glimpse back to a different time with some still familiar RFH faces.

It’s the Retro Pic of the (George) Day that serves as a reminder of warm baseball times off the field with team buds back in the dugout.

This classic shows a few people who still seem to look the same and are in the area.

One of them is the RFH Class of ’78 president. Remember who that was? Who else do you recognize in this shot? And notice the lettering on the hats and that they say “RF” rather than “RFH.” Hmmm. We all said “RFH” when abbreviating the high school in talk, but most of the uniforms and varsity letters did have an “RF” printed on them. Why?

Oh, well. Play ball!

Thanks, a thousand times over, to the talented George Day for this look back in RFH time!
