Yes, spring fever is spreading rapidly as we all anxiously await some sunshine, and blooming of warmer days. Apparently, this retro RFH spring frolicking in the high school parking lot was about more than a little spring fever in the 1970s.
Call it a Rocky moment with a touch of fever for these guys. They launched into full boxing mode for a minute there. Though, those don’t look like boxing gloves on their hands — more like their shirts wrapped around their fists.
Nowadays those two wouldn’t have a “free” period in which to escalate the heat in their little boxing feet. In fact, they’d likely not be doing any fancy feet and fist moves as they got hauled off for a probable expulsion. Oh, the times they have a changed.
In this progressive Retro Pic of the (George) Day, the action moved away from the Pinto, which we now think was yellow and belonged to the Sorrentino girls. A new distracting old mode of transportation sitting in the corner is a 10-speed bike, likely a Schwinn, the top o’ the line. There’s also another bike. Know what brand?
We also now know that the boxer to the right is Billy Finn. RFH alum jury is still out on who’s the boxer on the left. There’ve been a few guesses, but no confirmation. Oh, and who is sitting on the bike rack taking it all in with the spring air?
Ah, spring … The retro heat is on.
Thanks, once again, to the fabulous George Day for this great retro pic!
