Fair Haven Police Report: Assault, Fraud, DWI, Attempted Burglary Terroristic Threats, CDS

The following May criminal incidents and arrests were reported by Fair Haven police. An arrest does not constitute a conviction.

Criminal Incidents

• A River Road business owner reported on May 24 that an unknown person was using his businesses name to fraudulently charge several unrelated accounts.

Patrolman Christian Hostrup took the report. 

• A Park Road resident reported on May 21 that an unknown person used his identity to secure a Verizon account. 

Detective Dwayne Reevey took the report.

• Patrols responded to a River Road business on May 21 due to a report of terroristic threats.

Patrolman Christian Hostrup investigated.  Sgt. Sherri Lambert assisted.

• A Parker Avenue resident reported on May 17 being the victim of fraud

Patrolman Eric Patton took the report.

• Patrols responded to an attempted burglary on May 8 at a River Road business.  

Detective Dwayne Reevey is investigating.

• A Park Road resident on May 6 reported several hundred dollars in fraudulent charges on a credit card.

Sgt. Jesse Dykstra took the fraud report.

Arrests

• Rebecca Sherman, 31, of Cliffwood, was arrested on May 25 and charged with driving while intoxicated (DWI) by Patrolman William Lagrotteria.

• Sean Bartolo, 34, of New York, was arrested on May 25 and charged with possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphilia by Patrolman Michael Volker following a motor vehicle stop.

• Chris J. Meyer, 53, of Tinton Falls, was arrested on May 24 and charged with driving while intoxicated (DWI) by Patrolman Michael Volker following a motor vehicle stop. Meyer was also charged with reckless driving and refusal to submit to a breathalyzer.

• Peter Forsman, 57, of Tinton Falls, was arrested on May 24 and charged with simple assault and disorderly conduct as a passenger during a motor vehicle stop by Sgt. Jesse Dykstra.

• Thomas A. Coles, 52, of Fair Haven, was arrested on May 16 and charged with driving while intoxicated (DWI), reckless driving, simple assault and disorderly conduct by Patrolman Michael Volker following a motor vehicle stop.

• Joseph A. Gonzalez, 26, of Long Branch, was arrested on May 14 and charged with possession of more than 50 grams of marijuana and distribution of a controlled dangerous substance (CDS) by Patrolman Brooks Robinson following a motor vehicle stop.  

• A Harvard Road resident reported on May 16 that an unknown person had accessed his personal bank account to make several withdrawals.
