Police Report: Harassment of Juvenile & Shoplifting

The following recent criminal incidents and arrests were reported by Shrewsbury police. An arrest does not constitute a conviction.

Criminal Incidents

• There was a report of a shoplifting in the area of Shrewsbury Avenue on June 6. The victim reported that someone stole $139.96 worth of merchandise.

Patrolman Derek Myers is investigating.

• There was a report of a shoplifting in the area of Shrewsbury Avenue on June 4. The victim reported that someone stole $249.98 worth of merchandise.

Patrolman Tyler Fox is investigating.

• There was a report of a shoplifting in the area of Shrewsbury on June 3. The victim reported that someone stole merchandise.

Patrolman Daniel DeCristofaro is investigating.

• There was a report of a shoplifting in the area of Shrewsbury Avenue on May 27. The victim reported that someone stole merchandise.

Patrolman Mary Ellen Rumola is investigating.

Arrests

• Lawrence B. Adams, 64, of Rumson, was arrested in the area of Newman Springs Road on June 5 and charged with harassment of a juvenile by Detective Sgt. James Ramsey.

• Michael A. Layton, 32, of Shrewsbury Township, was arrested in the area of Shrewsbury Avenue on May 27 and charged with shoplifting by Patrolman Kyle Ludwig.

**Police reported two arrests solely on contempt of court warrants.**
