Swimming Success: Rumson Police Chief’s Plunge for a Good Cause

Once again, Rumson Police Chief Scott Paterson literally dove into a good cause and ended up rising to the top.

The chief took the 2019 Polar Bear Plunge in support of the Special Olympics New Jersey and surpassed his fundraising goal of $20,000 by $5,572 for a total of $25,572. The plunge was Saturday in Seaside.

Each year, Chief Paterson has upped the ante in his quest to help the cause that “offers sports and health programs to athletes with intellectual disabilities.”

He has consistently surpassed his goal year after year.

Congratulations, Chief!
